A Salute to our Roots

A Salute to our Roots

Grandparents are the family's greatest treasure. They are the founders of a loving legacy and the greatest storytellers and keepers of culture and tradition. To honour these great pillars of our society, St. Joseph's Convent School, Sagar, hosted a gathering for grandparents on Tuesday, 20th December 2022.

Management planned an entertaining program for the grandparents of class 5 to make them feel special. Dr. G.S. Choubey, the grandfather of one of our students from class 5, was the chief guest for the occasion.

The programme began with the auspicious ‘Lighting of the Lamb’ followed by prayer dance and welcome song.  The whole programme followed a theme of accepting and respecting the differences between the two generations and filling the generation gap. Many power-packed dance performances by the students left the grandparents spellbound and thoroughly mesmerized. The performances showcased the special bond shared by the two generations. The motive behind this celebration was to honour grandparents for all the sacrifices they make for their families and showering love, support and guidance to everyone.

Grandparents enjoyed the songs, music, dances of their times which carried them back the memory lane. It was a moment of delight to see the happiness ushering in the faces of all the grandparents who made the most of this wonderful day with happiness.
The wisdom that imparted by the chief guest left everyone speechless. He emphasised on making the bond stronger. The Principal addressed the audience and appreciated their presence.

It is rightly said, “We wouldn't be here without our grandparents”. It’s time to salute our roots.
