OIKOS 2K22-DWELLING PLACE

OIKOS 2K22-DWELLING PLACE

This year, the educational institutions of Tanmaya Province gear towards the theme "Together Towards a Sustainable Common Home." In align with this theme, St. Joseph’s Convent School, Pulluvazhy, Kerala, invited all its students to bring the whole human family together to build a better future through a mind-blowing evening fiesta OIKOS 2022.

OIKOS was a small attempt to remind this generation that the earth will end if we do not care. We are on this earth to take care of life; we are on this earth to care for each other. Earth is what we all have in common. Thousands of galaxies and constellations of stars are an unlimited and unknown mystery. God has placed an invisible line in a corner on which the planet earth rotates. God has created everything perfectly. It is God who is the artist, and all of creation is His canvas. We are just caretakers of his creation.

But today, we see our meadows have become a desert. What should we do to bring back colors in the valleys? Our destruction of the earth left many places once abundant with life withering away into desert wastelands. To conquer others, we have made nuclear weapons. War and bloodshed result in thousands of deaths, leaving millions homeless and refugees. For the present generation, the earth may not be a beautiful place to live in.

The entire programme was based connected to the story of Noah, the Prophet. Noah lived in perilous times as it is now. In order to portray the present and past and the message of love, cooperation, dedication, sacrifice, and commitment, the story of the great flood was the right choice.

During the days of Noah, people lived as they liked. Today we are no better than in those old days; we are destroying the earth, people, and the whole of creation. The entire event revolved around how to care for mother earth and celebrate life.

The grand event thus concluded by saying God wants people like Noah to save the earth and life. Let each one vouchsafe to save our mother earth and become another Noah to be chosen by God to save the earth and its creation.
